The 20-Minute Read
You bring the number that won't move. I tell you straight where I think it's actually stuck.
What is it?
Twenty minutes on a call. You bring the number that won't move: revenue, margin, a launch that keeps slipping, a team that's busy while nothing lands. Or maybe it isn't a number yet. Maybe it's a peer who just posted a year you know you should have had, and he's not smarter than you, so what does he know that you don't? I tell you straight where I think it's actually stuck. Free. No deck, no pitch, no follow-up sequence.
Why it's almost never the thing you think it is
A business is a machine. Every event causes other events. When a number stalls, everyone stares at the part with the gauge on it: the pipeline, the ad spend, the sales team. But the stall is usually upstream, in one of twenty other things. A decision nobody made. A thing nobody owns. Two people solving different problems and calling it the same one. It sits somewhere that looks completely normal, which is exactly why nobody inside can see it. Not because they're not smart — because they're inside it. Same as you.
What I'll ask you
Not what you want. Everybody wants the number to go up. I'll ask what you've already tried, what you've already paid for, and what happened. Then I do what I always do: make an assumption and try to disprove it. Why is it flat? Because of this. Okay, why did that happen? The real picture lives at the bottom of that chain.
Who it's for
You're running something real, roughly $10M to $30M, and you can't get a straight answer from anyone inside about why the number won't move. Sales says one thing, marketing says another, and the arguing has quietly replaced the fixing.
What you leave with
One honest read: here's where I think it's stuck, and here's the first thing I'd go look at. If I see something real, I name it on the call. If I don't, I say that too, and you've lost twenty minutes.
The honest part
Yes, the full version of this is a paid two-day teardown. The twenty minutes isn't a trailer for it. If the read tells me you don't need one, I'll tell you that, and you can say so to anyone.
If someone sent you this
They think you've got one of those numbers.
